Our Purpose

Our purpose is to represent our members’ interests to stakeholders to enable the most productive marketplace for their collective business activities.

We keep our members up to date on legislative, regulation and standards development both in the UK and the EU.

We also help to ensure that the full benefit of the products and technology in which our members invest is understood by their customers, enhancing the lives of users.

We are committed to helping our members grow by:

  • Leading on the development of standards and regulations that support reducing environmental impact, innovation, safety, quality, performance, reliability, whilst protecting against risk and cost.
  • Enabling the development of industry networks, bringing the various stakeholders together, across industry, government and supporting bodies, nationally and internationally, working in partnership to deliver exceptional products and service.
  • Promoting industry information on technological advancements that improve the energy and water efficiency of appliances, the industry’s contribution to a net-zero and circular economy, and the value that the latest appliance technology gives to householders’ lives.
  • Raising awareness of benefits of appliance registration and collaborative industry partnerships to raise the % of householders who register.

We aim to be always:

  • Relevant, credible and influential in everything we do.
  • Delivering a strong value proposition for all members, irrespective of size and sector.
  • Seen as a “must be part of” membership organisation.
